Robotics

We offer two robotics tracks for high school students: FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) for grades 7–10—collaborative, iterative, and ideal for beginners—and FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) for grades 9–12, our flagship, varsity-level program. FRC demands precision engineering, software integration, and strategic thinking at the highest level of competition.

AVID

AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) is a nationally recognized college and career readiness program designed to equip students with the skills, strategies, and mindset necessary for academic success. Rooted in a student-centered approach, AVID focuses on fostering critical thinking, organization, and collaboration to prepare students for rigorous coursework and post-secondary education.

Student Leadership

Associate Student Body (ASB) is a dynamic program designed to empower students to actively shape school culture and student activities while developing essential leadership skills. Through event planning, teamwork, and problem-solving, ASB members take an active role in fostering a positive school climate by organizing engaging school-wide events such as Back to School Night, the Haunted Maze, Winter Ball, and Prom. These students serve as vital representatives of the student body, voicing concerns and collaborating with school administration to address student needs.

PBIS

Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) creates schools where all students succeed. PBIS is a data-driven multi-tiered approach to prevention and response of student behavior. The Academy implements the PBIS framework in a way that meets the unique needs of their communities, with a schoolwide motto: S.O.A.R. like Gus! Be Safe! Have Ownership! Be Accepting! Be Respectful!

English Learner

The Academy is committed to providing high-quality English Language Development (ELD) instruction to support multilingual learners in achieving academic success and full English proficiency. Our ELD program is designed to meet the diverse linguistic needs of students through research-based instructional strategies, targeted support, and meaningful community engagement.

Athletics

Our student athletes are offered opportunities to participate in 12 boys’ and girls’ interscholastic sports. There is a growing tradition of winning that matches the academic excellence of our student-athletes. TPAA has won 15 Heritage League Championships and counting.
