About The Academy

Discovery why and how we are building future-foward students.

We prepare students for college and a wide variety of careers in the science and engineering fields, while providing a “homegrown workforce” for local high-tech firms. Through an innovative combination of programs designed to boost life skills and academic success, we promise our students and our community that every graduate will leave here with a clear college and/or career master plan.

The Academy utilizes an effective articulation between learning levels, TK to 12th grade, that creates an environment that inspires students to explore, expand, and innovate ways to learn. At all levels of learning, students are supported, encouraged, and challenged to go beyond the borders of their current experience to develop talents and skills that they will use for the rest of their lives. The programs emphasize science, technology, engineering, and mathematics and are influenced by the aerospace industry.

This is our mission.

We are committed to academic excellence. Guided by the principles and innovation of the aerospace industry, the educational program integrates STEAM-focused learning with real-world applications, providing opportunities for students to design, create, and explore. Through industry-inspired learning experiences and partnerships with aerospace employers, local community colleges, and other partners, students will develop the skills and mindset needed to innovate, adapt, and excel in a rapidly evolving world.

This is our vision.

The vision of the Academy is to provide an engaging environment for learning in grades TK-12. Our graduates will be supported, encouraged, and challenged to develop the following competencies that they will use for the rest of their lives:

  • Ethical, responsible citizens who lead with integrity
  • Flexible, adaptable, imaginative, and resilient life-long learners
  • Creators and innovators who are artistic and technologically literate
  • Empathetic and compassionate individuals
  • Effective communicators, critical thinkers, and problem-solvers

This is our history.

2012

The Palmdale Aerospace Academy (TPAA) was established with a bold vision: to provide a world-class education that integrates science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM) to prepare students for careers in aerospace and beyond. With strong community partnerships, including collaborations with NASA, Lockheed Martin, and Northrop Grumman, TPAA was founded to align education with workforce needs and create pathways for students into high-demand industries.

2016

We moved to a larger, state-of-the-art campus and continued expanding to meet the growing demand for our specialized programs.

2019

We successfully completed our TK-12 expansion with the opening of a newly constructed elementary building.

2022

The Academy further enhanced its facilities by adding a dedicated on-campus library for elementary students, reinforcing our commitment to a rich academic environment. Our school continues to earn numerous accolades, including Project Lead the Way (PLTW) Distinguished Awards across elementary, middle, and high school programs, a testament to our commitment to hands-on, STEM-focused education.

2023-2024

Our Science Olympiad team reached new heights with a historic performance that advanced them to the state competition. Additionally, we were honored with Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) Gold and Bronze Awards for fostering a supportive and inclusive school environment. We were also recognized by U.S. News & World Report as one of the Best High Schools in both the National and Charter categories. Our commitment to early college opportunities is evident in our partnership with Antelope Valley College, where high school students can earn college credits through dual-enrollment programs, ensuring they graduate with a strong academic foundation.
